03/20/14 Happy Spring

Breakfast was so good at the Carousel Cafe yesterday that we decided to go back again today before heading North to Nevada for the Cache Across America and then on to Utah near the entrance to Zion National Park.  We passed through an area old Route 66 that we had visited two years ago when we were geocaching in Southern California.

We have arrived in Nevada

Look what we saw at the light we were at.. . the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile

Then we arrived at the parking coordinates for the Cache Across America - Nevada. The hike was about 2 miles round trip and Trixie stepped on a cholla cactus on the way back to the car. We pulled out the barbs but she walked very slowly and tenderly back to the car. By the time we made it to the hotel she was ok again just tired. We are very pleased that she has been able to make this trip with us. By the time we get back home Trixie will have been in all of the lower 48 states.

After getting the CAA - Nevada we headed to St George, Utah. . . .a town near the entrance of Zion National Park.

First we crossed back into a tiny corner of Arizona

Then we drove into a very cool rock formation.

and on the other side this was the landscape
and yet another state - Utah!

Tomorrow the plan is to spend the day in Zion National Park.
